Sketch and Color challenge

Two great challenges can be found at Stamp Something and Truly Scrumptious! I decided to take on both with one card, which I'm then going to give to my friend Ami this weekend at her baby shower! (Crossing stuff off my to-do list rocks!) The Stamp Something challenge was to use blue, green and yellow (spring colors!). The Truly Scrumptious challenge was a sketch challenge, but it also had to be a card for a child.
I used my favorite SU! DP, which is from the Sale-A-Bration. This paper is perfect for a baby card. I also got to use my new texture plates with the Big Shot, which was very fun and I forsee a lot more texturing in my future. Ami's baby room is going to be a jungle theme which worked perfectly with my favorite little giraffe from Animal Crackers.

Paper: Bashful Blue, Delicate Dots DP, Barely Banana, Ivory (all SU!)

Stamps: Animal Crackers
Accessories: Sale-A-Bration ribbon, Big Shot with texture plate, button

Have a great week!

Awaiting Baby Robinson...

I had a great weekend attending my wonderful sister-in-law Sarah's baby shower! I had been very busy with lots of stamping and crafting for this big day, and am so excited to share with everyone! I found a great idea on making a diaper cake on susiestampalot's blog, so my mother-in-law and I tackled that challenge last weekend. So much fun! It was fairly easy once we got into a rhythm of rolling up the diapers and the best part was decorating. It was a definite hit at the shower and made a great centerpiece for the drink table. Another project we also made last weekend were the favor bags. In each bag was a Bath Bubbles Yankee Candle, body lotion or shower gel, Tea of Life tea bag and Lindt chocolate duck. The tags were made with the Big Shot, stamped with a duck from Bundled in Love (SU) and inside the tag was a little poem about waiting for the baby to be born. We stuffed some paper shreds in them and tied them up with Sale-A-Bration ribbon. This week I made food tents to display on the table to let everyone know what they were eating...and did we had some pretty yummy things to eat! Sarah's best friend Jen and her mom made an AMAZING duck cake that tasted so good, we were all standing around eating the cake and frosting with our fingers (this was after all the guests had left!) My mother-in-law (who's a wonderful cook) did most of the heavy lifting with the food prep and even my DH contributed by making a lovely orzo salad. It was so much fun seeing lots of family and friends and watching Sarah open lots of very cute baby gear. Now all we need is Baby Robinson!

Retro Easter

The challenge over on Stamp Something is Happy Easter Somethings...so I thought it would be a good chance to pull out "Bunny Hugs" which is an adorable Easter set. I heart that little chick and bunny! I focused on the chick and the very cool and retro Good Morning Sunshine DP, which actually went well with the modern looking sentiment from the set.
Check out the technique for the pocket card, very quick and easy but looks fancy!

Stamps: Bunny Hugs
Paper: Summer Sun, Good Morning Sunshine DP
Ink: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron
Accessories: Tab Punch, Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon

Have a great weekend!

Making cards, yes...taking pictures, not so much...

OK, so I am not the best with taking pictures of the cards I make...had to enlist hubby's help in taking a non fuzzy photo of this one. Not sure if it's my electronic dysfunction or the 2 glasses of wine I've had (or both)? Anyways, I sort of cased the card from the SU catalogue but I love these colors! I stamped the flower from Doodle This in Riding Hood Red and the 'heartfelt' in Chocolate Chip. The base is Baja Blue (which is quickly turning into one of my favorite colors) and the yellow flower is Barely Banana, which I made with the Big Shot!

Enjoy!
